Vivo has officially confirmed the launch and availability of its upcoming smartphone, the Vivo T2 Pro 5G, in India. The phone is set to arrive soon through Flipkart, and the company’s post has teased that it will debut in a Golden colour variant. This new handset will succeed the previously launched Vivo T1 Pro 5G.
Launch Date and Colour Options
Vivo took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the impending launch of the Vivo T2 Pro 5G in India. While the exact launch date is yet to be announced, the smartphone will be available for sale exclusively on Flipkart. The post by Vivo also revealed that the T2 Pro 5G will be offered in at least a Golden colour option, adding a touch of luxury to the device. Additionally, the smartphone will feature power and volume buttons on its right edge, providing convenient access for users.
Expected Specifications and Features
Prior to the official confirmation by Vivo, leaked details about the Vivo T2 Pro 5G had already painted a picture of its impressive specifications. It is expected to boast a 3D curved display with a high refresh rate of 120Hz and an impressive 1200Hz touch sampling rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and responsiveness. The phone is rumored to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
The Vivo T2 Pro 5G is also said to feature a 64-megapixel primary rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) support, providing enhanced photography capabilities. In terms of dimensions, it may measure just 7.4mm in thickness, making it sleek and easy to handle.
Successor to Vivo T1 Pro 5G with Android 12-based Funtouch OS 12
The Vivo T2 Pro 5G will be the successor to last year’s Vivo T1 Pro 5G. The latter was launched in India back in May 2022 and came with Android 12-based Funtouch OS 12 out-of-the-box. The phone featured a 6.44-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, delivering vibrant visuals and smooth scrolling. Under the hood, it was powered by a Snapdragon 778G SoC, ensuring efficient performance for various tasks.
As for the camera setup, the Vivo T1 Pro 5G offered a triple rear camera configuration, consisting of a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter, and a 2-megapixel macro lens for detailed close-up shots. For selfies and video calls, there was a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.0 lens.
