Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G and Reno 12 5G: New Flagship Devices with MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy Chipsets
On July 12, Oppo launched the Reno 12 Pro 5G and Reno 12 5G in India, showcasing their new flagship lineup powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy chipsets. The highlight of these devices is their AMOLED displays with up to a 120Hz refresh rate. Running on ColorOS 14.1 based on Android 14, they feature triple rear camera setups spearheaded by a 50-megapixel Sony LYT600 camera. Prior to their India debut, the Oppo Reno 12 series was introduced in China and certain global markets in recent months, with international versions carrying a similar Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC. In China, the Reno 12 is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition chipset, while the Reno 12 Pro boasts a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition SoC.
Price and Availability in India
The Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G is priced at Rs. 36,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant and Rs. 40,999 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage model. Available in Space Brown and Sunset Gold colors, it is set to hit the market on July 18. On the other hand, the Oppo Reno 12 5G comes with a price tag of Rs. 32,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model and is scheduled for release on July 25 in Astro Silver, Matte Brown, and Sunset Peach hues. Both devices will be available for purchase through Flipkart and the Oppo India website.

Both the Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G and Reno 12 5G are dual-SIM (Nano) smartphones running on ColorOS 14.1 based on Android 14. Oppo promises three years of OS upgrades and four years of security upgrades for these new devices. They feature a 6.7-inch full-HD+ quad-curved AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a pixel density of 394ppi, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The displays support HDR10+ and are capable of delivering a peak brightness of 1200nits outdoors. While the Oppo Reno 12 Pro’s screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, the Reno 12 comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i coating.
Powered by a custom octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC, the Oppo Reno 12 series offers up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card.
In terms of camera capabilities, the Oppo Reno 12 5G lineup sports a triple rear camera setup. The Pro model features a 50-megapixel primary Sony LYT600 sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN5 telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom. On the front, it houses a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN5 selfie shooter. Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno 12 5G is equipped with the same 50-megapixel Sony LYT600 sensor with OIS, alongside an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. For selfies, it features a 32-megapixel front camera.
Both devices come with AI-integrated features such as AI Summary, AI Record Summary, AI Clear Voice, AI Writer, and AI Speak, along with AI-based camera functionalities like AI Best Face and AI Eraser 2.0.
On the connectivity front, the Oppo Reno 12 5G series supports 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, IR Blaster, and Wi-Fi 6. They also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for authentication and support face unlock. Additionally, these devices boast an IP65-rated build for added durability.
Oppo has equipped the Reno 12 5G series with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging. This feature allows the battery to be charged from 1 percent to 100 percent in just 46 minutes. The Pro model measures 161.4×74.7×7.40mm and weighs 180 grams, while the standard model comes in at 161.4×74.1×7.6mm and weighs approximately 177 grams.
