DP World, a global leader in intelligent supply chain solutions, recently made a significant contribution to the cricket community in New Delhi. The company delivered 500 cricket kits to grassroots academies at the Aerocity Ground as part of its Beyond Boundaries initiative in collaboration with Delhi Capitals.
Supporting Cricket Growth with Essential Equipment
The Beyond Boundaries initiative aims to support the growth of cricket by providing grassroots clubs with essential kits, equipment, and facilities. This effort involves repurposing 50 shipping containers to distribute resources to young players in need.
The two latest containers are set to benefit 500 young players from academies like Bal Bharati and Bal Bhavan in the Delhi region. These containers are not just functional; they also feature unique exterior artwork that celebrates the spirit of cricket and its ties to the city of Delhi. Additionally, the containers will serve as changing rooms and resting pavilions for the beneficiaries.
Unveiling Ceremony with Delhi Capitals Players
The launch event for this initiative was attended by prominent Delhi Capitals players, including David Warner, Anrich Nortje, Yash Dhull, and Poonam Yadav. Head coach Ricky Ponting and Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly were also present, along with Adhendru Jain from DP World and representatives from Delhi Capitals’ Men’s and Women’s teams. Together, they interacted with the young beneficiaries and distributed the cricket kits to seven academies across Delhi NCR.
Adhendru Jain, vice president of Rail and Inland Terminals at DP World Subcontinent, expressed the company’s commitment to supporting talent at the grassroots level. He highlighted the positive impact of sports on individuals and communities, underscoring the importance of accessibility to the game for players at all levels.
