Despite Batting Collapse, MP Buchi Babu Final: MP Still Holds Upper Hand

Madhya Pradesh gains advantage despite batting collapse

Despite a batting collapse, Madhya Pradesh (MP) has the upper hand against Delhi in the Take Sports All India Buchi Babu tournament final. The match is being played at the Sri Ramakrishna College ground and it is currently at the end of day two. MP, after resuming at 271 for three, lost their last seven wickets for just 79 runs and were bowled out for 370 at the stroke of lunch.

In response, Delhi started poorly and were struggling at 59 for four at one stage. However, Shivank Vashisht played a patient innings to stabilize the innings and remain unbeaten on 44 at stumps. Delhi finished the day on 126 for four.

Siddhant Sharma shines with the ball for Delhi

Siddhant Sharma was the standout performer for Delhi in the first innings. The medium-pacer produced an inspired spell with the second new ball, picking up three crucial wickets. Sharma took 3 for 53 in his eight overs, including a magnificent 8-1-12-3 spell. He caused havoc in the MP middle-order.

Sharma’s first victim was Adheer Pratap Singh, who was trapped leg-before by a well-executed yorker. He then dismissed Rishabh Chouhan, who was caught down the leg side for a duck. Chouhan was the double-centurion in the last game. Sharma’s final wicket was Sumit Kushwah, who was caught behind while attempting an expansive shot outside the off-stump.

Hrithik Shokeen and Shivank Vashisht contribute with the ball

While Sharma was the star of the show, Delhi’s Hrithik Shokeen and Shivank Vashisht also made valuable contributions with the ball. Shokeen, an off-spinner, took three wickets for 80 runs in his spell. Vashisht, a left-arm spinner, picked up three wickets for 53 runs.

Shokeen’s wickets included important dismissals that helped restrict MP’s total. Vashisht cleaned up the last two batters to wrap up the innings.

Aman Bhadoria’s quickfire knock boosts MP

MP owes a significant part of their total to Aman Bhadoria’s quickfire innings. Bhadoria scored 42 off just 28 balls, including two consecutive fours and a six. His aggressive strokeplay helped MP cross the 350-run mark.

Bhadoria unleashed his attacking prowess against both Shokeen and Sharma. He punished them with boundaries and hit one six in particular with a cover drive. His innings was crucial in giving MP a competitive total.

Delhi faces uphill task in chasing MP’s total

While the pitch still favors batting, there were signs of wear and tear. Some deliveries kept low, presenting a challenge for batsmen. If Delhi hopes to chase down MP’s total, their batsmen will need to step up and score big. A strong performance from one of their batsmen will give them a chance to surpass MP’s total.

The Scores: Madhya Pradesh 370, Delhi 126/4

Madhya Pradesh put up a total of 370 runs in their first innings. Arham Aqueel top-scored with 65, followed by Sumit Kushwah’s impressive knock of 114. Aniket Verma also contributed with 68 runs. Aman Bhadoria’s cameo of 42 towards the end boosted their total.
