Govt Silk Board Project Job Opening – BSc & MSc Life Sciences Eligible

The Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute under the Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, is seeking applications for one post of Project Assistant. The position is part of a research project sponsored by the Central Silk Board on the “Validation of SNP markers associated with economic traits in Bombyx mori L.” (Project Code: SIT08015 MIC).

Important Details

The project is set to run from March 2024 to February 2026 or until the project’s completion, whichever comes earlier. The essential qualifications include a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Life Sciences with a first class (60% marks, 55% for SC/ST candidates) while desirable qualifications include knowledge in silkworm rearing, genetics, molecular biology experiments, data recording, and computer basics.

Walk-in Interview Details

Interested candidates can appear for a walk-in interview on 22nd June 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute in Mysore. Candidates are advised to reach the venue by 1:00 PM for document verification, as the entry will be permitted only till 12 noon.

Additional Information

The upper age limit for candidates is 28 years as of 1st March 2024, with relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged and women candidates. No TA/DA will be provided for the interview, and the position is purely temporary and contractual, co-terminus with the project duration.
