Former Vice-Chancellor of Hyderabad University and renowned life scientist, Syed E Hasnain, expressed his regret at not being able to study at Patna Science College due to lower marks in school finals. However, the current physical state of the institution has been compromised due to the construction of Ganga Path and the metro project, with the front portion of the college on Ashok Raj Path being acquired for the metro station.

Principal D N Thakur acknowledged the growing apathy of authorities towards addressing the institution’s shortcomings, which has negatively impacted its academic performance. Presently, only 22 regular teachers, including the principal himself, are serving against a sanctioned strength of 110. Similarly, the college operates with just 70 non-teaching employees out of the total sanctioned posts of 214, highlighting the severe staff shortage and operational challenges faced by Patna Science College.
