Kejriwal’s Arrest by ED Feared on Nov 2: Atishi Raises Concerns

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal may be arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) following his summoning in a money laundering case related to an alleged excise policy scam, according to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)

Delhi Education Minister Atishi Singh held a press conference on October 31, expressing concerns about the possible arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on November 2. The AAP, the ruling party in Delhi, also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to eliminate them by imprisoning their top leaders.

This marks the first time that Kejriwal has been summoned by the ED. In April, he was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding the same case. Atishi Singh suggested that the BJP’s motivation behind these actions is their recognition that they cannot defeat Kejriwal in elections.

“There are reports that Kejriwal will be arrested on November 2. If he is arrested, it won’t be because of corruption charges, but because he has spoken against the BJP,” Atishi said. “The AAP has defeated the BJP in the Delhi Assembly polls twice and also in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi polls. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scared of AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal. The BJP knows they cannot defeat the AAP in elections.”

Atishi further alleged that the arrest of the AAP’s top leadership, including Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and Satyendar Jain, is indicative of the BJP’s intention to eradicate the AAP. Jain has already been granted bail in a money laundering case. Atishi went on to claim that after Kejriwal’s arrest, the BJP will target other leaders of the INDIA alliance and its chief ministers using the CBI and ED.

According to Atishi, their next targets will be Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, whom they have been unable to defeat, followed by Tejashwi Yadav, against whom they have failed to break the alliance in Bihar. Finally, they will target Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin. Atishi emphasized that AAP leaders are unafraid of going to jail and are committed to protecting the Constitution.

Saurabh Bharadwaj, an AAP leader, supported Atishi’s allegations and stated that the party has grown stronger despite opposition. “The BJP is attempting to imprison Arvind Kejriwal and other top leaders of the AAP. Every attempt to suppress and eliminate the Aam Aadmi Party has only made it stronger,” he declared.

Gopal Rai, the AAP’s Delhi State convener, also held a press conference and reassured that the party will continue to work for the common man. He emphasized that despite previous attacks, the party has only grown stronger. “They want to arrest Arvind Kejriwal because they want to eliminate the Aam Aadmi Party. They attempted to weaken AAP MLAs by filing more than 170 cases against them, but they failed. The AAP’s mission is not just for itself, but for the betterment of the common man,” he asserted.

In conclusion, the AAP has raised concerns about the possibility of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case. The party alleges that the BJP is attempting to undermine and eliminate them by imprisoning their top leaders, but they remain resolute in their commitment to fighting for the common man and protecting the Constitution. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how these allegations will be addressed and whether they will impact the political landscape in Delhi.
