Led by V.K. Rajamanickam, president of the Federation of All Trade and Industry Associations of Erode District (FATIA), the human chain stretched from the Collectorate to Nasiyanur Road at Sampath Nagar. The members displayed placards urging the government to fulfil their demands.

Concerns and Demands

Mr. Rajamanickam expressed concern over the imposition of peak-hour consumption charges at a time when the state is energy surplus. He emphasized that continuing with the same practice would burden Micro, Small, and Medium-scale Enterprises (MSMEs) further. He also called for a halt in the collection of networking charges from industries for installing rooftop solar energy panels, considering the existing challenges faced by industries.
