The Torn Curtains Theatre Group Presents ‘Tea With Everything’
The renowned Hyderabad-based theatre group, The Torn Curtains, is all set to captivate audiences with a series of short plays titled ‘Tea With Everything’ at The Park in Visakhapatnam.
Adaptation and Inspiration
Adapted from Neil Simon’s ‘The Good Doctor’ by Kanishka Dasgupta, the play draws inspiration from the works of the legendary Russian playwright and author Anton Chekhov. It weaves together a tapestry of entertaining stories that encompass a spectrum of emotions – from charm and humor to melancholy and poignancy. Through a diverse array of characters, ranging from innocent to cunning to quirky, the audience is taken on a journey that is profoundly human.
The Plot Unveiled
At the heart of the narrative is a writer grappling with writer’s block and navigating her own artistic temperament. She invites the audience into her world, unveiling a series of captivating scenes that delve into her childhood, family dynamics, friendships, and personal experiences. Four short stories come to life on stage – ‘The Sneeze,’ ‘A Defenceless Creature,’ ‘The Arrangement,’ and ‘Too Late For Happiness.’

The Torn Curtains stands as one of the oldest and most esteemed theatre groups in Hyderabad, with a rich repertoire of over 100 plays performed across India, the US, Canada, and Dubai.
