She expressed concern that the interview tarnished the reputation of women working in the film industry and urged the police to take action against Kantharaj, including the removal of the contentious video from YouTube.

In response to Rohini’s complaint, the Cyber Crime Wing of the Greater Chennai City Police registered a case against Kantharaj under several sections of the law. These include Section 296 (Obscene Acts), 75(1)(iv) (Making Sexually Coloured Remarks), 79 (Word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), and 352 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Additionally, Kantharaj was also charged under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, which pertains to the punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form.

The complaint against Kantharaj has been forwarded to the Cyber Crime Wing for further investigation and legal proceedings. The police are diligently pursuing the case in accordance with the allegations raised by Rohini.
