Aasha Radhika: Creating a Personal Bond Through Art

A Tribute Through Art: Aasha Radhika’s Mystical Journey

Hyderabad-based artist Aasha Radhika recently unveiled her 25th solo exhibition titled “Svan: Mystical Wings & Eternal Tinkles” at the State Art Gallery. This heartfelt tribute to her late mother showcases approximately 70 acrylic and egg tempera paintings, each measuring 1 foot and 3/4 feet in size. These captivating pieces depict her memories and enchanting encounters with nature.

Connecting with Nature and Self

Aasha Radhika’s artistic expression delves deep into her inner self, weaving stories of young girls and women who have crossed paths with her in life. Her creations are not just artworks; they are soulful reflections inspired by her parents and mentors. By channeling her thoughts and emotions, she transforms canvases into windows to her memories and the natural world. Drawing inspiration from her mother’s embroidery and favorite colors, her grandmother’s affection for animals, and her own journey as a mother, each stroke on her canvas resonates with a profound sense of connection.

Symbolism and Symmetry in ‘Svan’

A recurring motif in Aasha’s art is ‘Svan,’ a bird symbolizing her family members—her father SV Anjaneyulu, mother Satyavani, and daughter Shivani. ‘Svan’ takes on various forms, such as a peachick, palapitta (The Indian Blue Jay), or a swan, depending on the narrative she seeks to convey and to infuse symmetry into her compositions. Juggling her role as a chief manager at the State Bank of India alongside her passion for art, Aasha finds purpose and fulfillment in her creative endeavors. Painting isn’t just a hobby for her; it’s a spiritual connection that permeates every aspect of her life.
