Hyderabad is all set to witness a new art show this weekend with the grand unveiling of Thooriga The 4th Collective Exhibit 2024. This unique exhibition showcases over 40 artworks from five talented Chennai-based artists: Charanya Rajesh, Gayathri Balaji, Sathya N Prabhu, Yamuna Bala, and Subhashree Sridhar. The title of the exhibit, ‘Thooriga’, translates to ‘paintbrush’ in Tamil, reflecting the essence of artistry that will be on display.

Charanya Rajesh, inspired by realism, specializes in painting portraits and figuratives. Her nine oil pastel works beautifully capture the essence of womanhood, highlighting the deep bond women share with nature, flora, and fauna in the Indian cultural context. One of Charanya’s notable pieces is ‘Devotion,’ which pays homage to her hometown of Madurai. This painting features a Tamil woman adorned in traditional attire, symbolizing her love and longing for Lord Shiva.
Gayathri Balaji: Drawing Inspiration from Sculptures
