Swarathma’s Rainy Performances Get Bengaluru Singing

Unforgettable Swarathma Concert Hits Bengaluru Amidst Rain

This past Saturday, the anticipation in the air was palpable as fans eagerly awaited Swarathma to take the stage in Bengaluru. However, just as the band was about to begin, an unexpected guest made an appearance – rain. Despite this unforeseen weather twist, the audience embraced the rain with open arms, adding to the electrifying atmosphere of Swarathma’s performance.

The renowned Bengaluru-based folk and rock band kicked off their much-anticipated Swarathma India Tour 2024 from Mumbai on May 25, and finally made a stop in their home city. This tour not only showcased their latest album, Raushan, but also embodied their commitment to sustainable entertainment by running on solar energy. Collaborating with the Sustain Plus Energy foundation and SELCO foundation, Swarathma aimed to set a new standard for eco-friendly concerts.

The evening began with a soulful performance by Tulu singer-songwriter Praveen Alva of Alva Kuuto, amidst a light drizzle that failed to dampen anyone’s spirits. The audience was captivated by the melodious Tulu songs, setting the tone for an unforgettable night.

Swarathma’s Enthralling Performance Transcends Weather

As Swarathma members, including Vasu Dixit, Jishnu Dasgupta, Varun Murali, Sanjeev Nayak, and Vinay Ramakrishnan, took the stage, the energy in the air soared. The band launched into a series of their greatest hits, from the soulful ‘Manwa’ to the lively ‘Topiwalleh.’ Even as they delved into ‘Ee Bhoomi,’ their heartfelt tribute to the earth, the rain intensified. However, the audience continued to groove to the rhythm, unfazed by the weather.

One attendee, Anagha Hari from Whitefield, expressed her initial concerns about the rain potentially disrupting the concert but was delighted that the show went on seamlessly. She remarked, “It was a magical night with Swarathma and the rain.”

As umbrellas opened up across the venue, attendees swayed joyfully to Swarathma’s music, transitioning from energetic tracks to more soothing melodies. The band’s repertoire, including their latest unreleased Tamil tracks, delighted the crowd, inspiring a few die-hard fans to dance in the rain without hesitation.

Community Spirit Shines Through in Bengaluru

Reflecting on the night, Raima R, a long-time Swarathma fan, shared, “I’ve been following Swarathma for over a decade, and this concert was truly breathtaking. Singing along in the rain while the band performed live was a perfect way to unwind.”

Lead vocalist and guitarist Vasu Dixit reminisced, “The last time we performed at this venue, around five or six years ago, the show was canceled due to rain. But this time, the resilient people of Bengaluru didn’t let a little rain dampen their spirits!”

Once again, Bengaluru residents showcased their unwavering passion for music, proving that their love for live performances knows no bounds.
