HBO announces ‘House of the Dragon’, ‘Euphoria’, ‘The White Lotus’ and more returning



House of the Dragon Season 2 to Premiere in 2024

The highly anticipated second season of the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, will be hitting our screens in the early summer of 2024. HBO recently announced that the second season will consist of eight episodes, two fewer than the first season.

Other HBO Series Updates and Postponements

In addition to the House of the Dragon news, HBO’s Chief, Casey Bloys, also revealed updates on other highly anticipated series. The third season of the critically acclaimed show Euphoria and the third season of The White Lotus have both been postponed to 2025. Furthermore, the prequel series to It, titled Welcome to Derry, also faces a delay and is now scheduled for release in 2025. Another highly anticipated series, The Last of Us, is expected to premiere in 2025, with production set to begin in spring 2024.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight

Casey Bloys also provided an exciting update on HBO’s next Game of Thrones prequel, called A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight. However, due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, casting for the prequel has not yet been finalized. This captivating series is based on George RR Martin’s beloved trio of novellas, Dunk and Egg.
